Born and raised in South Carolina, Chelsea spent her childhood in between the upstate and Pawleys Island. She discovered early on a love for art and painting, often putting a brush to anything she could find from old beach wood to vintage ceiling tiles. With encouragement from her family, Chelsea pursued her BA in Fine Arts at College of Charleston. While there, she fell in love with the city of Charleston and decided to make it her permanent home. Chelsea's artwork is inspired by her love of the South's unique way of life. You will often find her work is comprised of Lowcountry favorites, like oysters, the sea, and colorful figures. Her painting style is rich in detail and symbolic of her own experiences in everyday life. While not painting, you will find Chelsea surrounded by the very things she paints and exploring other artistic outlets. Chelsea resides in Mount Pleasant with her lovely husband, Kenzie, and their son Press; who is a 5th generation Charlestonian and South Carolinian.
