What’s your advice to a new collector, someone who has never bought a piece of art from a gallery before?
People are nervous about making a bad decision on their first investment piece and always appreciate a little guidance. That’s what we are here for.
The best thing about our site is that we have so many affordable pieces. Also, you don’t have to start BIG. Find a few small pieces and make a place for them in your home.
When you are ready to purchase a large piece, I suggest doing a little research at first. Today you can view art online, so visit galleries online and make a list of your favorite works regardless of price. This will help you get to know your taste.
What do you do when people can’t afford the artist they love?
I try to find them a piece of art from an emerging artist that has a similar style and one they CAN afford!
What is the process of working with an art advisor like you?
First, I ask clients to share the names of their favorite artists with me so I can get a sense of their style. Then I ask for size and dimensions, and where they intend to place the art. I will send them a few images of art work they might, like and once we’ve picked out a number of favorites, I will bring the work to their home for approval. It’s the best way to see if the work fits in the space it is intended for. If nothing works we try again!
