Q: In your bio, it says you come from a family of artists. Tell us about them.

A: My Mother was an artist, I learned a great deal from her, and my Grandmother made the most amazing jewelry. Her Father was a metal artist.

Q: A lot of the subject matter in your paintings involves animals. Where does your love of animals come from? Do you have pets of your own that inspire you?

A: Yes, my daughter has always loved horses. She has been riding and showing most of her life. So, of course I have painted her horses, being that I am around them all the time.

As far as my bird paintings, I have a huge love for birds. I have created a bird sanctuary in my backyard with 4 blue bird houses, bird feeders, and bird baths. I love to sit and watch them and them capture their beauty on canvas. And of course my dog Chloe provides me with inspiration constantly.

Q: Do you have any current paintings you are working on and excited about?

A: Yes, I am currently working on a series of cityscapes from my travels to France, Charleston and other towns.

Q: Do you prefer to work in a studio or paint en plein air?

A: Both, but there is nothing more fun than setting up somewhere beautiful with other friends and artists and painting from life!

Q: What is your artistic process like? How to do prep before starting a new painting?

A: I make sure I have my favorite music, cranked up if loud I’m in my studio, a subject that I am excited about painting, and a clear head. Then I just lose myself to the process and journey that each painting takes me on.

Q: What is your favorite part about being in the Atlanta Artist Collective?

A: I feel honored to be part of an incredible new concept that makes it easy and fun to buy original art online. The Atlanta Artist Collective does a great job of representing its artists and providing great customer service! It's like having your own art manager. I just had new cards made with the website printed on them, so I hope to be with AAC for a long time!
